Presentation of the CRESCER Project to the Spanish Society of Tropical Medicine and International Health

Pamplona, Spain. 11th March 2022

On March 8, 9 and 10 2022 took place the XII Congress of the Spanish Society of Tropical Medicine and International Health (Sociedad Española de Medicina Tropical y Salud Internacional – SEMTSI) with the general theme “ONE HEALTH, Improving the world”, organized on this occasion at the Museum of the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain.

From the CRESCER project team we sent two abstracts to be presented in the field of International Cooperation and Global Health, which were accepted as oral communications. On Tuesday 8th, Israel Molina-Romero, CRESCER Project Principal Investigator and Coordinator, presented the MuCCUA trial (“Mother and Child interventions for Chronic Undernutrition in Angola: A community cluster and cost-effectiveness trial”), and on Wednesday 9th, Rocío Martin-Cañavate presented the Economic Evaluation Protocol of the CRESCER community randomized controlled trial to reduce undernutrition in Angola. Both presentations were aimed at raising awareness and presenting the different clinical research components of the CRESCER project within the framework of SEMTSI.

The SEMTSI congress is an annual event that functions as a scientific framework for all professionals related to Tropical Medicine and International Health to share experiences and advances in research, clinical management and cooperation, and also a forum to establish, resume and strengthen contacts. In 2022 it was presented with the general theme “One Health: Improving the World”, which seeks to promote the interdisciplinary approach from our Society to contribute to optimal health for people, animals and our planet.
