The CRESCER Project held on March 9, 10 and 11 in Lubango, Huila Province, the second round of practical training of the “Nutrition Plus Package” for trainers and supervisors of Community Development and Health Agents (ADECOS) and Community Activity Assistants, in the auditorium of the Rectory of the Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University (UMN), with a total of 23 trainees from various municipalities of Huila and Cunene. This session is a continuation of the first training of ADECOS trainers and supervisors which took place in November 2021.
This training aims to build the capacity of the Supervisors and Assistants who will train the 240 ADECOS that will be recruited in the four target municipalities of the project in the Huíla and Cunene provinces. The ADECOS will be involved in the research that is being called the MuCCUA Study (Mother and Child interventions for Chronic Undernutrition in Angola: A community cluster and cost-effectiveness trial).
A team led by the project coordinator for the Institute of Local Development (Instituto de Desenvolvimento Local – FAS) Lourdes Faria, Isabel Aguado Lobo and Ferrán Ramírez Viaplana as technical assistants for the CRESCER Project, Sara Herrán as representative for the Action Against Hunger Spain Foundation, Sofia Rodrigues for Instituto Camões IP and the University of Oporto, Antonella Cerrano for OSC CUAMM-Doctors with Africa, as well as supervisors and assistants were present at this event and were supported by the Provincial Health Offices.
